RB Leipzig beats Dortmund 3-1 with goals from Olmo and Nkunku

RB Leipzig secured their second consecutive Bundesliga victory on Sunday, defeating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig. The win was the sixth straight for RB Leipzig in all competitions this season.

The match began with both teams playing cautiously, with neither side managing to create many clear-cut opportunities. However, it was RB Leipzig who broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Oliver Nagelsmann's side took the lead through the impressive performance of Yussuf Poulsen.

In the 56th minute, RB Leipzig doubled their advantage with another goal from Olmo, who scored his first Bundesliga goal since returning to Germany after spending time in England. The goal came from a superb cross from Nkunku, who had been causing problems for Dortmund's defence all game.

Dortmund continued to push forward in search of an equaliser but were unable to find the back of the net. In the final minutes of the match, RB Leipzig added a third goal courtesy of a well-taken penalty from Nkunku, as he converted a spot-kick following a handball by Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer.

Despite conceding two late goals, Dortmund manager Lucien Favre praised his team's resilience and effort, saying: "We showed a lot of character today, especially considering the result we started with."

Overall, RB Leipzig's win is a significant achievement for the team, who have now won six consecutive games in all competitions. The win also means that they will be able to secure a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season, which would be a remarkable feat given their recent struggles.
